Where it works

Only the markets where the carrier's own pages say the SIM receives texts or uses data are listed. A market that is missing is one the carrier does not say it works in.

How to keep it working

On Verizon Prepaid, TravelPass lets an eligible line use its talk, text and data in 140+ countries, including China, Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan, for $12 a day (Mexico and Canada $6), charged only on the days the line is used abroad. The first 5 GB each day is high-speed and the rest runs at 3G speed. It is not available on data-only plans. Keeping the number: Verizon's terms say that if the plan is not renewed and no funds are added within 60 days, the account is cancelled and the funds are forfeited; its support pages add that a suspended line with no activity for 90 days has its number disabled and its account closed. Renew or add funds before then.
