How to keep it working
Pausing Google Fi keeps your number but switches off calls, texts, data and international service, and a paused line turns itself back on after three months; pausing repeatedly breaks Fi's terms. If you cancel instead, you can undo it in the app within 7 days as long as the number has not been ported out, and Fi support can reactivate the account for up to 60 days after cancellation; after that you open a new account. Abroad, texts are free on Flexible and Unlimited Premium and calls cost 20 cents a minute. Flexible charges $10 per GB for data in 200+ destinations, while Unlimited Premium includes 50 GB of high-speed data there and then slows to 256 kbps. Unlimited Standard covers Canada and Mexico only, and Unlimited Essentials has no international service.
