Where it works

Only the markets where the carrier's own pages say the SIM receives texts or uses data are listed. A market that is missing is one the carrier does not say it works in.

How to keep it working

Per its October 2023 leaflet, a China Mobile Hong Kong prepaid card must be activated in Hong Kong before the date printed on it, and it is valid for 180 days from activation. A top-up extends the validity from the top-up date, and the longer date wins: HK$50 or more gives 180 days, and HK$200 or more gives 365 days. If the card expires, is suspended for more than 30 days or is terminated, the unused balance is forfeited and the number cannot be kept. A lost card can be replaced within its validity to keep the number, for a HK$10 fee or a top-up of HK$100 or more. Data roaming is on by default and billed by use; once a Hong Kong day's roaming data reaches 500 MB the speed drops to 128 kbps.
