How to keep the number
The card must be registered under a real name before use, and its validity runs 180 days from activation (395 days for the social-media edition and the mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan roaming edition). Each top-up extends the validity by 365 days from the top-up date and keeps the number. If you do not top up before the expiry date, the remaining balance, free allowances and the number are cancelled. Top-up vouchers come in HK$50, HK$80 and HK$100.
