The Hang Seng MMPOWER World Mastercard is a no-annual-fee card built around online shopping. Hang Seng pays up to 8 percent in +FUN Dollars on a short list of merchants and categories, but only after you register, only if you spend HK$3,000 a month, and only up to a monthly cap. This guide goes through what Hang Seng lists in October 2026, what the cap does to the real rate, and who should hold the card.

| Timing | Spending completed in a month has to post within 15 days, and the extra reward is credited within 2 calendar months |
- +FUN Dollars
- Hang Seng's reward currency, earned under its credit card rewards programme.
- Eligible retail spending
- Spending that counts toward the gate and the reward, which excludes the items Hang Seng lists, such as bill payments.
- Extra reward
- The part of a category rebate above the basic 0.4 percent, which is the part the HK$500 cap applies to.
Spending is placed in one category only. When a transaction fits several, Hang Seng applies this order: designated merchants, then online entertainment and fashion, then other online retail, then foreign-currency spending.
What counts, and what does not
Hang Seng names five designated merchants: Amazon, GU, lululemon, Taobao and Uniqlo. For these, its terms apply to online points of sale and physical stores in Hong Kong, excluding counters at department stores and outlets. Online entertainment is limited to a list of streaming platforms, local cinemas (ticket purchases only), ticketing platforms and the two local theme parks. Online fashion follows merchant category codes, and online department stores do not count.
Hang Seng's terms exclude bill payments, tax payments, insurance companies, all Alipay and WeChat Pay transactions, instalments, Octopus top-ups, stored-value purchases, cash advances, automatic payments and transactions under recurring payment instructions. Subscription billing may fall into that last group, so check how a service charges you before counting it.
What the cap does to the real rate
The extra reward is the category rate minus the basic 0.4 percent, so 7.6 percent for the 8 percent categories. That reaches the HK$500 cap at about HK$6,600 of spending in a month.
The welcome offer
Hang Seng's page shows a welcome offer paid in +FUN Dollars. The terms set a spending threshold within 60 days of card issue that differs for new credit card customers, existing credit card customers and full-time students, and the reward is credited within 3 months. If you cancel the card within 13 months of opening it after receiving the offer, Hang Seng charges a handling fee equal to the offer's value. The amounts change, so this guide does not quote them.
Before you apply
Check your merchants against the list
The 8 percent lists are short. Compare them with where you actually shop online.
Register as soon as the card arrives
Only spending from the month of registration counts toward the extra reward.
Plan around the monthly cap
Once you are near HK$6,600 in the top categories, use another card for the rest of the month.
Note the end date
The programme Hang Seng lists runs to 31 December 2026, so read what applies after that.
Is it right for you?
Fits you
- You shop online at Amazon, Taobao, Uniqlo, GU or lululemon and would register.
- You pay for streaming, cinema tickets or theme parks online.
- You want a card with no annual fee for the principal and supplementary cards.
Think twice
- Your monthly eligible spending is below HK$3,000, where the extra reward is not paid.
- Most of your spending is bills, Alipay or WeChat Pay, which do not count.
- You spend more than about HK$6,600 a month in the top categories, where the cap lowers the rate.
