The Pi Wallet card is an E.SUN Bank credit card issued on the Mastercard network and tied to the Pi Wallet app. Its rewards are paid as P coins into that app rather than as points at the bank, and the rate you actually get depends on three things you set up yourself: the app binding, the card e-bill and a monthly registration. This guide goes through what E.SUN lists in October 2026 and what each layer needs.

What to set up first
Register and bind
Register the Pi Wallet app with identity details that match E.SUN's records, then bind the card in the app. E.SUN says the reward starts only after the binding succeeds.
Switch on e-bill
The 1% base reward needs E.SUN card e-bill. Without it the rate is 0.3%, and the main and additional cards are counted separately.
Register for the monthly bonus
Register once for the campaign. It counts from the month you register, whole calendar months, and does not look back.
Add the E.SUN account if you want the 5%
The Pi Wallet bonus needs an E.SUN Taiwan dollar account set up for automatic payment of the card bill.
The layers of reward
| Layer | What it takes | Rate | Cap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Base | Card bound in the app, E.SUN e-bill on | 1% (0.3% without e-bill) | None |
| Monthly bonus, middle step | Registration, NT$10,000 to 29,999 in the month | Plus 0.8%, 1.8% in all | Not stated separately |
| Monthly bonus, top step | Registration, NT$30,000 or more in the month | Plus 2%, 3% in all | 3,000 P coins a month per household |
| Pi Wallet bonus | Pay through Pi Wallet, NT$499 or more in one purchase, registration, automatic payment from an E.SUN account | Up to 5% in all | 300 P coins a month per household |
| Insurance | Domestic Taiwan dollar premiums paid in one go | 1.2% | None |
The two bonuses are listed for 1 September 2026 to 28 February 2027, and the monthly bonus is paid from the 10th of the next month (from 17 February 2027 for January, because of the Lunar New Year holiday). Within the monthly bonus E.SUN pays only the better step, once a month. The Pi Wallet bonus is separate: E.SUN's own worked example for a NT$118,900 phone bought through Pi Wallet adds the base 1%, the Pi Wallet 4% (capped at 300 coins) and the monthly 2%. The insurance reward is listed for 1 March to 31 December 2026.
What counts as spending
The base reward and the monthly bonus both apply to ordinary spending, and E.SUN's definition leaves out:
Instalments through a merchant, for the base reward. For the monthly bonus, merchant instalments do count, once, at their total.
In-person spending in the EU, for the base reward.
Taxes and fees, the four big convenience store chains and PX Mart.
Payments through a bound mobile payment at channels that E.SUN lists as not ordinary.
Insurance, which has its own reward and is not counted toward the monthly steps.
The monthly bonus counts spending in Taiwan and abroad together, so spending abroad can help reach a step, and the base reward is credited after the merchant posts the charge. Check E.SUN's list of what is not ordinary spending, because it names merchants that change.
How P coins work
One P coin is NT$1. You spend them inside the Pi Wallet app when you pay at its partner shops, and E.SUN lists no cap on how much of a payment they cover, apart from items Pi Wallet says cannot be offset. They expire after 180 days from the day they reach the app, and an expired coin is zeroed. Each transaction's reward is rounded down to a whole coin. A refunded purchase takes its coins back, and if you have spent them, E.SUN charges the difference to the card bill at NT$1 per coin.
Who it suits
The card suits someone in Taiwan who already pays through Pi Wallet, keeps the card on e-bill, and spends at least NT$30,000 a month on it, since the 3% layer is where it stands apart. It is less suited to someone who wants a reward that never expires or that can be redeemed anywhere, because P coins only work inside one app and last six months. It is a different card from the E.SUN Unicard, which pays e points.
- P coin
- Pi Wallet's reward currency. One P coin is NT$1 inside the app, and it lasts 180 days from the day it is credited.
- E-bill
- The electronic card statement. E.SUN requires it for the 1% base reward.
- Binding
- Linking the card to the Pi Wallet app. The reward starts only after it succeeds.
- Registration
- The one-off sign-up for the monthly bonus, made on E.SUN's campaign page.
- Household
- E.SUN counts the cap across the cardholder's main and additional cards together.
Questions people ask
What does the Pi Wallet card earn?
E.SUN lists a base of 1% in P coins on ordinary spending, with no cap, once the card is bound to the Pi Wallet app and E.SUN card e-bill is on. A registered monthly bonus raises that to 1.8% or 3%. Insurance premiums paid in one go earn 1.2%, listed to 31 December 2026. The bonus and the Pi Wallet extras are listed to 28 February 2027.
What do I have to do before it earns?
Register the Pi Wallet app with identity details that match what E.SUN holds, bind the card in the app, and switch on E.SUN card e-bill. E.SUN says the base reward starts only after the binding succeeds and the e-bill is on. The monthly bonus needs one separate registration.
How does the monthly bonus work?
Spending is counted by calendar month for the main and additional cards together, leaving out insurance. From NT$10,000 to 29,999 the bonus is 0.8%, and from NT$30,000 it is 2%, with a cap of 3,000 P coins a month for the household. One registration covers every month of the campaign, counted from the month you register, so a registration on 15 September counts all of September.
How long do P coins last, and where can I spend them?
E.SUN gives them 180 days from the day they are credited to the Pi Wallet app, not from the day you opened the account. They can only offset payments at Pi Wallet's partner channels, they are not exchanged for cash, e points or other rewards, and each transaction's reward is rounded down.
What about insurance premiums?
First-year and renewal premiums on Taiwan dollar policies in Taiwan earn 1.2% in P coins with no cap when paid in a single charge, and single-premium policies are excluded. Instead, a single premium of NT$6,000 or more can be registered for 6 interest-free instalments, and NT$15,000 or more for 12, and E.SUN takes the 1.2% back when an instalment is set. E.SUN lists this from 1 March to 31 December 2026, and registration must be done at least 3 days before the statement closes.
What does the card cost?
The pages used for this guide do not state the annual fee or its waiver. Read E.SUN's fee notice for the card before you apply.
