A US prepaid carrier where you build the plan from minutes, texts and data, from 5 dollars a month. Keep a monthly plan active to hold the number.

How to keep the number
A Tello number stays active as long as the account has an active service: a monthly plan, or Pay As You Go credit. If a monthly plan ends without renewal there is a 12-day grace period, and Tello emails a reminder 7 days before the line expires. Buying a new plan inside those 12 days restores the number, and starting a port-out is the other way to keep it. With Pay As You Go credit only, the credit expires 3 months after the last purchase and the number survives 7 more days; adding credit (at least 20 dollars) before then keeps it. Tello says an expired number cannot be brought back.
