What to check
Capital One says there are no fees to open, keep or use the account, or for foreign transactions. The 70,000+ fee-free ATMs are Capital One, MoneyPass and Allpoint machines; at any other machine Capital One adds no fee, but the machine's owner may. Opening an account needs a Social Security or taxpayer ID number.
