How to keep the number

povo 2.0 has a base plan of 0 yen, so the number is kept by buying a paid topping (a data or call option) at least once every 180 days. If no paid topping has been bought for 180 days after the day following the latest topping's expiry, or for 180 days after the SIM was activated if none was ever bought, povo gives notice by email or SMS and then suspends the line. Metered call and SMS charges above 660 yen (tax included) in that period, or use of certain prepaid codes, also avoid suspension. While the line is suspended you cannot buy toppings in the app and must ask povo support to lift it. If no paid topping is bought within 30 days of the suspension, the contract is terminated.
